This mural is based on a photo of the Appleby family taken ~1900 in front of their farmhouse on the northwest corner of Dundas W. and Islington Avenue. The couple shown are not husband and wife; the man is William Appleby shown with his sister Mabel. The Appleby’s farmhouse was built in an Ontario Gothic style with fine gingerbread trim.
