“Oral Indigenous History and Cultural Cosmology” Workshop with Philip Cote – Augmented Reality in the Village of Islington

July 20, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

The first educational and informative session will include oral Indigenous history and cultural cosmology for artists. In this session, Indigenous artist Philip Cote will lead a conversation on Indigenous narratives and history of the land (Etobicoke/ Village of Islington) including key narratives that were lost in time. This session will also include an overview of his ideas for the Augmented Reality in the Village of Islington project which will incorporate story gathering from the community.

All our community workshops are free, however, they are intended for community members who live or work within a 1km radius of the Village of Islington. This project is designed to more accurately represent the people who live and work in this community so we want to make sure that registration is targeted to community members.

Please note that Zoom link will be sent in confirmation email.

This project is supported through Toronto Arts Council Strategic Funding.
