Music, Brain and Praxis

March 5, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Speaker: Keith Loach “Music, Brain & Praxis” is about the role music can play in improving our lives. His book connects-the-dots through philosophy, brain research, industry analysis, and the arts to build an argument for the definition of good health. Music can positively affect us at the mental, physical, cognitive, and societal levels. In this program, Keith looks at recent research in music and health. Find out what happens in our brains when we play, listen and move to music. Keith Loach holds a Bachelor of Music from the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, a Master of Music (MA Music) from York University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. His graduate work in music examined the effect of music on the brain, with a broader focus on how musicking can be supported in Canada’s healthcare policy. Drop in. No registration required.
