Migration Trails / Shannon McManus
Exhibit on display in the Briarly Room January 3rd - March 29th
Opening Reception: Saturday, January 12th 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Shannon McManus is an abstract painter who has created three closely related series of provocative works, entitled Stone and Bone, Germination, and Migration.
Her vivid paintings are closely tied to the natural world. Their imagery elicits expressions of caves, stone, fire, water, vegetation and creature-like forms.
The Migration Trails paintings on display in the Briarly Room of Montgomery’s Inn were inspired by the current worldwide refugee crisis. Our entire world history is the continual migration of many living things across the landscape, including people, birds, animals and plants.
